Recent Advances in Therapy in Hearing and Vision (3 credits)
Course Directors: Dr. Peter Santa Maria, Dr. Yuanyuan Chen
This course is designed to introduce students who have no significant clinical experience to the recent advances in treatment and cures in hearing and vision pathology. Surgeon- and physician-scientists along with our basic scientist faculty teach this course.
Recent Advances in Therapy in Hearing and Vision Course Content
Journal Club (1 credit)
Course Directors: Dr. Melissa McGovern, Dr. Miguel Betegon
In this course, students will present a recent research article from a range of topics in hearing and vision sciences selected by the student in consultation with a faculty advisor. Emphasis is placed on careful analysis and critical evaluation of the manuscript as well as the development of teaching and speaking skills needed for scientific presentation. The student is expected to elucidate issues relevant to the topic and to answer questions from other graduate students and faculty during this course, which meets weekly.
